Dark Energy Lives At the Missouri State Penitentiary

Nearly 100 years older than Alcatraz, the Haunted Missouri State Penitentiary has a very dark history. Stories of abuse, dungeons, malnourishment, riots, murder and more are all disturbing chapters in the life of this massive gothic structure. Today it sits as a museum and tourist attraction, for years it was home to the worst of society. For others, it was their final stop before putting to death by the gas chamber.

The thick rock walls of the Haunted Missouri State Penitentiary almost act as a cage for the myriad of emotions that once flowed freely through the halls and cells. Frustration, envy, hate, lust, disgust, sadness and loneliness are just some of the emotions that can easily be picked up when with-in its walls. Today we learn the stories of many men and women who still seem to be imprisoned at the Haunted Missouri State Penitentiary long after their life has ended.

Prison to Haunted Hot Spot. (Part 2 – Grave Keeper Exclusive – Listen Here)

Stories of paranormal activity did not start after the Missouri State Penitentiary closed. Rumors of the dead coming back to life ran rampant through the yards and the prison cells while the prisoners were present on the ground. Prisoners and guards alike experienced the ghosts of long gone many times while present at the Haunted Missouri State Penitentiary. In part two of our interview with Tom and Maggie Wells, we will learn about what areas of the prison seem to be “most haunted” and what areas should be avoided on a visit. We’ll learn about what went on in the dungeons of the prison and if the paranormal activity has increased or decreased from the days of it being an active prison.
